The market has boomed with small computing boards ever since the Pi was originally introduced, and the PINE looks best suited to be the king of cheap and powerful.

What is the PINE a64 In short, its a fully fledged computer on a single board, boasting a 64bit ARM Quad Core CPU clocked at 1.2Ghz coupled with 512mb of ram. Its positioned in the market to take on the Raspberry Pi line directly, boasting more power and ports for the Similar price as the Pi Model A+.

The CPU The cpu itself is the AllWinner R18 which powers a wide range of Android tablets and was released in January at $5 USD per unit, making it ideal for cheap computing and brought the complete board down to the $15USD level.

Now, I am a Rasberry Pi fan like most, even followed it from pre production back when the website was just a mail list, but this board is tempting me away from the Pi on a few simple features. - The price is cheaper than the reasonable Raspberry Pi's (Not Including Nano) - The CPU is more capable than the current Broadcom one in the current Raspberry Pi's. - The PINE can run both Ubuntu and Android Lollipop
