Streamlined Program Bridges Gap in Software Offerings for Linux Users

San Diego, California -- April 23, 2004 -- Lindows, Inc. today unveiled Lsongs, an all-in-one music management and playback software program that gives Linspire users complete control over the digital music experience. Lsongs combines the functionality of several Linux applications into one easy-to-use program for everything from importing songs to burning custom albums. The software will be included in select future versions of Linspire and is also available immediately from [HYPERLINK@www.linspire.com]

"Lsongs brings a new level of user-friendliness and polish to the desktop Linux music experience," said Michael Robertson, chief executive officer of Lindows, Inc. "Managing digital music on Linux computers has been unnecessarily complex and required multiple software programs until now, when one program can handle it start to finish."

Lsongs brings simplicity to creating, managing and enjoying digital music. Software features include the ability to:

-Import an unlimited number of audio tracks and encode them into digital format.

-Organize their entire music collection working with simple-to-use tools, including a powerful search engine and play lists.

-Listen to MP3s, audio CDs, or hundreds of streaming Internet radio stations.

-Create custom music CDs in a simple one-step process with no extra CD-burning software needed.

Lsongs can be downloaded and installed with one-click onto any Linspire computer using CNR Technology from the Linspire software Warehouse. Lsongs is available at no cost to those purchasing the Warehouse service and $19.95 to all others. Screenshots and complete details are available at [HYPERLINK@www.linspire.com] Lsongs is an open source product and source code is available to all Lsongs users.

JuK already has most of this in version 1.0 and the next version promises to tie up loose ends. Plus, JuK integrates with KDE nicely, if you desire that option. I am not saying that LSongs is bad, I am just saying that it isn't the first and definitely not the only choice.
