SCO tests new OpenServer Unix product

The embattled SCO Group has released OpenServer 6 for beta testing, a new generation of a Unix operating system that previous owners have tried to phase out on at least two occasions.

SCO bought UnixWare from Novell when its version number was 2. They release UnixWare 7 where the version number (7=2+5) hinted that this is the successor of OpenServer 5 and UnixWare 2.

It seems UnixWare never caught on, and there are probably some existing SCO OpenServer customers stuck^Wleft. So they focus all of their development efforts in that product, even though it is less "UNIX" (TM) by origin
