Linux Fans Unleash New Distro Called 'Puppy'

A retired university lecturer in Australia has come up with the latest twist on Linux, fielding a distribution of the operating system that takes little memory and can boot directly off of a USB thumb drive. Dubbed Puppy Linux, the OS is one of dozens of custom and guerilla variants on Linux circulating throughout the broader software community.

Leave it to CRN, a "publication" better suited to discussing the latest USB cable rack card design and profit margins then to actually be reporting about anything technical, to write an article about the "new" Puppy Linux.

Puppy Linux started in Mid-2003 and is well known as one of the top tiny linux distro (i.e. fit on biz-card cd or thumb drive).
