Firefox 1.5 tops 20 million downloads

Mozilla has announced that over 20 million internet users have downloaded the Firefox web browser since the release of version 1.5 on 29 November last year. The company claims to have seen strong demand for the browser, with " hundreds of thousands" of people downloading the new version of Firefox every day since its release.

I use Firefox, but lately it's really beginning to get on my nerves. Regardless if I have all the extensions I like installed or zero extensions installed, the browser continues to hog CPU. And I've tried all the suggestions/hints/band-aid solutions that are offered in their forums. If this sort of behavior continues, then that market share is going to be severely impacted.

As a Linux user we have many choices as far web browsers. But Opera and Konqueror don't always cooperate for many webpages (which yes I fully understand that if they'd write good code the pages would render correctly in any browser!). It's my observation that a majority of Linux users browse the web with Firefox. Why then is Mozilla dragging their feet to recognize, comment, and fix Firefox for us???!!!
