Every business faces competition, at least to some extent. Even if you’re currently the only provider of a certain service in your field of expertise, that doesn’t mean there aren’t people on the sidelines trying to secretly improve on what you’re doing and eventually lead your customers away from you. You may not see them, but they’re probably there.
The way in which businesses deal with competition can vary a great deal, but there’s a fine line that needs to be walked, and if it’s ignored, then that could lead to a heap of trouble. Some companies ignore competition while others simply state that it forces them to work harder and create a better product which in effect is beneficial to their customers.
"Anti-trust war"? There is no such thing as an "anti-trust war". There are Anti-trust laws of varying forms in nearly every nation on the planet. When you break those laws as MS has done the rules for how you do business change. It is really as simple as that.
MS IMHO can't survive without its highly unethical and in most countries illegal anti-competitive business practices.
