theres also quite a few distro specific forums - suseforums, mandrivausers, gentoo forums, etc etc some are better than others e.g. gentoo forums contain tonnes of stuff, but it's wise to have read the documentation first - which IMO is some of the best out there (you don't have to have mega in depth linux knowledge - a run of the mill system, a pair of discs, the install handbook (available online/on the discs etc) and about an hour (stage 3 + GRP is the quick way to go) will give you an up and running gentoo system - but it's essential that you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS religiously! regards John |

Just installed SUSE 10. Having been a windows user for nearly 10 yrs. I earn my keep with it. So I have a question. How do I join a network "workgroup"? |

> How do I join a network "workgroup"? If I'm understanding your question correctly, you'll need to configure Samba for the workgroup in question. As with all other things, the Samba configuration is probably done in Yast. Since I don't use SuSE, I can't give any more details. Maybe someone else will detail the exact steps you need to follow. |
