The new driver fixes the screen blanking wakeup bug on my laptop, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, it breaks on any 1280x1024 configuration, and I'm forced to back off on the resolution in order for X to work at all. The fonts are jagged and the sizes are all wrong, so I've dumped the 8756 driver and gone back to the 8178, except for my laptop.

Hmmmm. I've compiled and installed the 8756 driver this morning (Debian, must compile myself although the source is provided) but I haven't restarted X yet.

Now I'm just a leeeeeetle bit nervous. Hmmm....

Well, it only seems to be a problem with 1280x1024 - if you're at some other resolution, you may be fine with the new nvidia driver.
