"Another problem that many people experience is that YaST will appear to let you add a new installation source" If you actually TESTED the software, you might find out that you can get it to work...read some DOCUMENTATION http://susediary.blogspot.com/2006/05/update-suse-101-packag... (important to note that this fix was in place 10 days before your article) and it points you in the right direction. To fix this, add the repository as a ZYPP service in rug instead of YUM. So to add your pacman source you touted in your silly little article, it would be: rug sa --type=ZYPP http://packman.inode.at/suse/10.1/ packman It wasn't an entirely idiotic article...Mr. Vaughan-Nichols does tout SuSe 10.1 as being his favorite...but it really irks me when, if you do a little bit of reading, you can find solutions to your problems without circumventing the system in place. I hate it when people tout "problems" too soon just because they think it is going to garner tons of attention. Silly Silly Steven. |
