Heh-heh... Those vacations are harder to take when you figure out how much they're costing: Cost of vacation PLUS cost of foregone income. Ain't no vacation benefits outside of employee land. |

That depends on how you set up your own company. If you keep your company's financials separate from your own (under Dutch law called a BV or an NV - I don't know the relevant UK/US versions) then you can simply put yourself on the payroll of your own company and have a paid vacation like anyone else. Ofcourse, the company pays more taxes this way and it still affects the bottom line of your company.... |

I think we in the US would refer to it as a corporation vs a "sole proprietorship". In the former, the owner is (or can be) an employee of the company, iirc. Sole proprietors have it a little rougher. |
