This article is 100% correct, but here is how the real world will work.
People are learning to use product like Vmware ( and all others ) at a very, very fast rate.
Their base system is Linux...they run a legal or ( more often) a pirated copy of XP in it, and they will run Silverlight in it , be it legal or pirated. So, there will be no problem ( disruption) for the most users. As piracy rates go from 50% to 95% , depending on which country, this will happen with Silverlight as well. No good to close our eyes. Humans are Humans, and from experiences I know it doesn't make a difference where on earth you live. so: < Microsoft's Silverlight Promises to Disrupt Linux Web Users > will just be another mosquito in the room. Note: I am not one of them. I use linux only as my needs are limited. |
