Are any of you LXers going to SCALE next month? Let me know. |
Scott_Ruecker Jan 09, 2008 8:17 PM EDT |
I am going to cover it for LXer. I already have my press pass setup and waiting for me thanks to Orv. |

Cool - so perhaps I'll see proof that LXers exist in real life, and these messages aren't all being generated by a turing machine. |

Wait a second... you mean that your all not figments of my imagination!?!?!?!? /runs off into distance.. |

I've met dcparris in person. But you'd have to ask him if he met me. |

You'll have to tell me your user name first to toggle my memory. ;-) |

> ...you mean that your all not figments of my imagination!?!?!?!? Scott, you probably have a vivid imagination, but I doubt even it could handle the combination of me, TC, and Dino. |

Wouldn't the laws of he universe switch or something like that? Up becomes down, that sort of thing? :-) |
dcparris Jan 10, 2008 11:10 AM EDT |
Yes, gus3, I've met you. Twice, in fact. I just didn't recall the first encounter when I ran into you this year. :-( But I definitely remember you now! Maybe I need to try that Kingston brand memory chip instead of the default memory chip currently installed in my brain. I might remember more. ;-) I also met another LXer - say, where is he, anyway? |

dcparris, ..... *blink* I remember OLF, but when was the other time? Maybe I'm the one needing the Kingston. |

OK I'm registered. Since I was already planning to go to LWE in August, I'm not doing the full Monty, just the exhibits, seeing who's there and grabbing some swag. If anybody here is planning to go, drop me a line if you like. |

Hey, DC, did you get my email? |
Scott_Ruecker Feb 03, 2008 1:13 PM EDT |
I just cemented my plans, I am going to be there Saturday and Sunday, all day. Look for me out on the floor, I did the going to talks thing last year. This year, I will be on the convention floor meeting and greeting, rubbing elbows, schmoozing with famous people you know, cool stuff.. |

> I just cemented my plans, I am going to be there Saturday and Sunday, all day. Good deal! There will be some folks from the suse mailing list showing up too - should be fun; it looks to be a bit bigger than last time I went - good buzz. |

Scott_Ruecker Feb 09, 2008 1:08 PM EDT |
I am sitting in the e-mail garden if anyone wants to come by and meet me.. |
Steven_Rosenber Feb 09, 2008 2:39 PM EDT |
But are you there NOW? Because I'm here. |
Scott_Ruecker Feb 09, 2008 3:38 PM EDT |

Wow, I missed you guys - I was a little disappointed in the conference personally. I tried to use the wireless there, but the SCALE ESSID wouldn't provide internet access (It just gave me some lame 169.254 address), and all of the others seemed to be locked down. Maybe I've been spoiled by the grand extravaganza that is Linux World Expo, but I have to say that SCALE seemed small and disorganized, Not a total waste though, I did get a good discount on a book from no starch press, got free DVDs from novell and others, signed up for a genuine penguin credit card, and got some good info on some projects I'm interested in e.g. bongo, mysql, postgres. |
