The original report exclaims "open source software cost proper software companies $60 billion a year" but that was a really dumb headline. Let's clear things up with a better headline, and say instead that "open source software saves business owners $60 billion a year" - now that's more like it! |

That $60 billion dollars is a big target for those who sell services related to Free Software...if a client doesn't have to spend $20,000 for their software, spending $5,000 for your services to take care of it is a bargain and they won't hesitate. There is a nice living to be made from supporting Linux and the apps that make it usable. |
