inconsistent fonts, quirks mode

I'm seeing font size variations in the LXer fora. Some threads have the typical LXer font size (15.3px), while others are my default size (18px).

15.3px:

Browser default:

Both the threads of discussion, and the "latest discussions" links in the right column, exhibit this behavior.

The cause seems to be that, in Quirks mode, table cells don't inherit font size. The DOM inspector in Firefox confirms that the chrome://gre/res/quirk.css is applied when default size comes up, but not when the font size is 15.3px.

But I have no idea why the Quirks are appearing seemingly inconsistently among threads.

I don't see any difference between the threads you posted. I'm using IceWeasel 3.0.6 on Debian Lenny.

I have just looked on a XP and a PCLOS machine and they looked the same to me as well.

Those threads are both using the same BODY font-size of .85em, according to Firebug 1.3.3 in Debian Squeeze Iceweasel.

Sander, Scott:

Have you specified a larger font size as default in your browser(s)? I kick mine up to 18 points. (I also use DejaVu Sans, which displays more cleanly in lower DPI.)

I tried increasing and decreasing the standard font size in all threads (using Ctrl + and Ctrl -) and the result was always the exact same.

Please try enlarging the default font size in your Preferences. Ctrl-+/- affects all fonts equally.
