Well, according to some very high clerics in Australia, there is nothing in their faith that prevents them from giving and receiving Christmas greetings........so, on that basis.

Merry Christmas Everybody, and it's been a great year debating and laughing with you. May 2013 be equally as productive and enjoyable.

Merry Christmas to all!

[For those coal-hearted souls who might take offense at a greeting that acknowledges a religious holiday:

Get over yourselves! You don't have to believe in any frickin' thing whatsoever to accept that we wish you well during our holidays.

FWIW -- If you wish me a riotous Pagan Festival season, I will say "Thank you and Merry Christmas!"

Be sure to include yum gravitas........it keeps the apples in the pie dish - seriously.

Apt-get apple pies, actually.

Though aptitude apple pies works just as well -- and makes the pies taste better ;)

Best Wishes to all.

@Ridcully, there is probably already a dependency defined in the apple pies package, which might requite that one specify

yum gravitas apple pies or even yum gravitas short crust pastries apple pies, although as already pointed out aptitude usually results in better apple pies.

According to the manual Tracyanne, you forgot a parameter which does give maximum results:

yum gravitas short crust apple pies + cream.

Sheer blisssssss.........(You can of course use either ice-cream or custard {or all three}, plus a dribbling of tia maria or benedictine or liqueur port according to the various dependencies involved.)

PS....Hey, I wonder if we could apply for a joint copyright on this one.......????? Naaaah......Too much fun sharing.

@BernardSwiss......I didn't know that.....thankyou.......And a recipe is a set of instructions on how to do something.

http://www.bettnet.com/blog/index.php/weblog/comments/can_yo...

But can you patent a recipe ? And apparently you can, but this begins to look like software all over again with prior art.

http://www.ipwatchdog.com/2012/02/10/the-law-of-recipes-are-...

Perhaps we should dismiss the lawyers and put in master chefs to argue software patents. LOL. Or perhaps not..they might untangle the mess it's currently in. Nothing like a good punching and kneading of the pastry.

I am happy to hear that.

Our Tuesday was actually quite incredibly great. All three daughters together + 1 son-in-law.

Lots of laughs, and the goose I made was in-cred-i-ble.

Great ta, .....ours also was marvellous. Just the four of us (mater, pater, filia et filius), so very happy to be together, and the cold meats (roast pork, crumbed chicken, special mince patties) salads and a single glass of something bubbly was perfect. Our weather would have been a bit different from yours I suspect dino, hence the cold meal: our base line temp was about 31C (about 88F) and thunderstorms wandering.

Happy New Year, or happy next Tuesday if you prefer.

Oh, and while a good apple pie is wonderful, I prefer:

yum pumpkin pie
