I'm an admin on a couple of FB pages (to help out friends and have a little fun) and Jim is right on-- FB has mucked with stuff to the detriment of site users. One of the pages was consistently getting 50-60k visits per day, assuming you can trust FB's numbers. Then they did their infamous algorithm change and traffic dropped like a stone. Though again, I don't trust their numbers. At the same time they started spamming us for their paid services. Who remembers Digg? Way back when it was a great vehicle for promoting LinuxPlanet stories and LXer original features. Then they did an "algorithm change"-- nice excuse, eh? -- and it went to pot instantly. |

> Who remembers Digg? I habituated it when it was dogg/dot/somethingorother, a summary feed of slashdot, digg, and that other one that's made "+1" the bane of the internet. ;) |
