The past week for us at OSDir was a busy one. In the past week we installed, captured screenshots, and built screenshot tours for Frugalware 0.1, Knoppix 3.6, Slo-Tech Linux 2.1, Lycoris Desktop/LX 1.4, SimplyMEPIS 2004.04, Trustix Secure Linux 2.2 Beta 1, and OpenOffice.org 1.1 Writer. SLAX gets modded

SLAX (pocket OS) now comes in modded flavors, including Popcorn, Kill-Bill, and Professional. Down the road we'll see Hacker and Frodo mods too. SLAX is based on the Slackware Linux distribution and is downloadable as an ISO image. At OSDir we waffled but finally decided to go with the Professional version for our screenshot tour of this great Linux distribution. See SLAX in action here.

Gnoppix 0.8.1: Ubuntued

Gnoppix 0.8.1 now appears to be Ubuntu Linux based. At OSDir, we've got over 50 screenshots of the Gnoppix 0.8.1 release, including the controversial Ubuntu desktop background images.

SuSE Linux 9.2 Live Screenshot tours

At OSDir, we've done a screenshot tour for both KDE and Gnome interfaces of SUSE LINUX 9.2 Live.

Fedora Core 3: What's in store?

To give you a feel for what to expect in Core 3, we've done 120 screenshots of a full installation of Fedora Core 3 Test 3. Our screenshots include Gnome, KDE, and XFce interfaces. This is the last planned test release before the final release, scheduled for November 1.
