Version 7 of the Trisquel GNU/Linux distribution, code-named Belenos after a Celtic sun god, has been released. Belenos is a long-term support release that will be maintained until 2019. Relevant new packages and features include: kernel Linux-libre 3.13 with lowlatency and bfq scheduling by default; custom desktop based on GNOME 3.12 fallback; Abrowser 33 (a free Firefox derivative) as default browser; GNU IceCat 31 available as single-click optional install from Abrowser's homepage, complete with many extra privacy features; Electrum Bitcoin wallet pre-installed; moved to DVD format, now with 50+ languages and extra applications; improved accessibility by default.

openSUSE 13.2 is out! After one year on continuous improvement in the tools and procedures and many hours of developing, packaging, testing and fixing issues, a new stable release is here, providing the best that free and open source has to offer with our special green touch: stable, innovative and fun. Green light to freedom. This is the first release after the change in the openSUSE development mode, with a much shorter stabilization phase thanks to the extensive testing done in a daily basis in the rolling distribution used now as a base for openSUSE stable releases.

The Fedora 21 beta release is here, and - as usual - is packed with amazing improvements to Fedora, as well as fantastic free and open source software, gently harvested for your enjoyment. As part of the Fedora.next initiative, Fedora 21 will boast three products: Cloud, Server, and Workstation. Fedora 21 Workstation includes the latest GNOME desktop. Fedora 21 is tracking GNOME 3.14, which was released in September. GNOME 3.14 includes many new features such as integration of Picasaweb and DNLA media server support in GNOME Photos, a new game called Hitori similar to Sudoku, and much more. A Wayland technology preview is included in this release for GNOME.

eZeY 2014.09 is available. The main goal of eZeY is to provide IT students an easy Linux distro to learn and "play" with. Features: easy to use, made for IT students, kvm virt-manrager, unetbootin, fedora livecd-creator, XBMC, WPS Office, Steam, Skype and more.

SEANux 1.0 is available for download. SEANux is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution with a modified Gnome Shell interface, icons and GTK Theme. It is charged up with penetration testing tools and other useful applications for general purposes.

This is a Debian-based OS with Cinnamon.

The Elive team is proud to announce the release of the beta version 2.4.0. This new version includes: new Linux kernel 3.16; Reiser4 (stable version) officially included in the installer; Terminology 0.7.0; included tutorial by Yann Esposito about learning to use Vim superpowers. This version of Elive includes officially Reiser4 (with all known bugs fixed) - you can enjoy an extremely fast system by using the LZO real-time compression mode, which makes your data use less space on your hard disk. This is good for people who want to save space on their hard disks, but it also makes your hard disk mechanism require less space to travel when reading the data. This means that your hard disk will become magically double fast or even three times faster.

We have another official Puppy Linux release. Since I retired from developing Puppy Linux early in 2014, keen members of the Puppy community forked my Woof Puppy builder, naming it woof-CE. Since then, 01micko has been active with a Puppy built from Slackware packages, named 'Slacko Puppy'. The guys have also been working on another pup, built from Ubuntu 'Trusty Tahr' binary packages, under the leadership of Phil Broughton and this has now reached release status. It is named 'Tahrpup' and is version 6.0. Tahrpup is an official release of Puppy Linux for those who would like the package manager to have compatibility with the large collection of packages in the Ubuntu repository.

Ubuntu Kylin is an official Ubuntu subproject whose goal is to create a variant of Ubuntu that is more suitable for Chinese users using the Simplified Chinese writing system. 14.10. In this release of Kylin 14.10, we have improved system stability and have added more new features, which deliver a better user experience.

SUSE today announced the general availability of SUSE Linux Enterprise 12, the newest version of its reliable, scalable and secure platform for efficiently deploying and managing highly available enterprise-class IT services in physical, virtual or cloud infrastructure. New products based on SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 feature enhancements that more readily enable system uptime, improve operational efficiency and accelerate innovation.

"Kubuntu 14.10 is available for upgrade or install. A tech preview of the next generation Plasma 5 is available for early adopters. Plasma 5, the next generation of KDE Software is still a work in progress. You can test it and install it from the Kubuntu Plasma 5 image but beware it will remove your stable software. We love testers but no support is offered. If there are problems you may need to reinstall to revert back to Plasma 4.

A new version of our operating system has been released. You won't notice many cosmetic changes, as this version is considered as a bug-fix release, preparing the way to meet LXQt. Here are some changes: general bug-fix release as we prepare for LXQt; many LXDE components have been updated with bug-fix releases; an update of the artwork (more icons, theme update, more compatibilities); the Ubuntu 14.10 release with 3.16-based kernel; Firefox is updated to version 33; GTK+ updated to version 3.12; X.Org 1.16 has better support for non-PCI devices.

The Ubuntu MATE 14.10 final release is now available for download. This release has fixed a few minor issues and tweaked a couple things. Full disk encryption, or rather entering your pass phrase into Plymouth, was properly fixed by the Ubuntu team; also, missing configuration options in the workspace switcher applet, live session not auto logging into the MATE desktop, added a background wall paper to Ubiquity.

The Xubuntu team is pleased to announce the immediate release of Xubuntu 14.10. To celebrate the 14.10 code name 'Utopic Unicorn' and to demonstrate the easy customisability of Xubuntu, highlight colors have been turned pink for this release. You can easily revert this change by using the theme configuration application under the Settings Manager; simply turn Custom Highlight Colors 'Off' and click 'Apply'. Of course, if you wish, you can change the highlight color to something you like better than the default blue. Starting with Xubuntu 14.10, you should use pkexec instead of gksudo for running graphical applications with root access from the terminal for improved security.

The Ubuntu GNOME team is proud and happy to announce the release of Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn). Ubuntu GNOME is an official flavour of Ubuntu, featuring the GNOME desktop environment. Features: most of GNOME 3.12 is now included, the few missing bits of 3.12 are available in ppa; gnome-maps and gnome-weather are now installed by default, gnome-photos, gnome-music and polari are available to install from the Ubuntu archive; a set of 10 new high-quality wallpapers are included by default; GNOME Classic session is included - to try it, choose it from the Sessions option on the login screen; new themes (like numix) are available in the archive.

Kubuntu 14.10 is available for upgrade or install. It comes in two flavours, the stable Plasma 4 running the desktop we know from previous releases, and a tech preview of the next generation Plasma 5 for early adopters. Plasma 4 is our recommended stable offering and what you get from the default download, but is now in maintenance mode.

Announcing the release of HandyLinux 1.7, a novice-friendly distribution that features an intuitive start menu with application launchers and Internet bookmarks - based on the stable Debian GNU/Linux 7.0. The HandyMenu application, the distribution's main feature, has been upgraded to version 2.3; it sees the Facebook button is gone, replaced by a link to Framasoft's free services. Some of the other items in the changelog include: redesign of the browser's start page; addition of gpart and Yelp; clean-up of documentation files; addition of "social launchers" for direct access to popular social sites; addition of the Diaspora launcher; software updates to Debian 7.7.

Tails, The Amnesic Incognito Live System, version 1.2, is out. This release fixes numerous security issues and all users must upgrade as soon as possible. Major new features: install (most of) the Tor browser, replacing our previous Iceweasel-based browser, the version installed is from TBB 4.0 and is based on Firefox 31.2.0esr, this fixes the POODLE vulnerability; upgrade Tor to 0.2.5.8-rc; confine several important applications with AppArmor. Bug fixes: install Linux kernel 3.16.5. Minor improvements: upgrade I2P to 0.9.15 and isolate I2P traffic from the Tor Browser by adding a dedicated I2P Browser, also, start I2P automatically upon network connection, when the i2p boot option is added; make it clear that TrueCrypt will be removed in Tails 1.2.1 and document how to open TrueCrypt volumes with cryptsetup.
