A new stable release of the Gnumeric open-source spreadsheet editor used in numerous distributions of GNU/Linux and desktop environments, including GNOME, has been made available for download recently fixing numerous issues with the ODS (OpenDocument Spreadsheet) file format.

The GNOME Music app, the default audio playback software of the controversial GNOME desktop environment, has been updated for GNOME 3.16, due for release in March 25. GNOME Music 3.16 Beta 2 is a bug fix release that addresses a number of issues discovered in the previous Beta version of the software.

After two years of hard work, the Xfce development team had the pleasure of announcing a few minutes ago, February 28, the immediate and general availability of the highly anticipated Xfce 4.12 desktop environment for GNU/Linux distributions.
