The Chronic Dev Team has just released a few minutes ago the a new version of their Absinthe jailbreak tool for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 devices, bringing support for the Linux platform. Until now, the Absinthe untethered jailbreak utility for Apple A5 devices had support only for thr Mac and Windows operating systems, but starting with version 0.3 Absinthe also supports Linux.

Desura Goes Open Source With Desurium

The Desura gaming client now has an open source brother, called Desurium and hosted on Github, licensed under GPL (GNU Public License) version 3. Detailed instructions about how to install and run the open source version of the Desura client on both Linux and Windows platform are also available on the Github page.

In the mean time, more Internet companies join the strike, such as The Document Foundation with their LibreOffice website (still allowing access to the rest of the site) and the XMBC project's website, saying "Today we are proud to stand together with organizations around the world to protest SOPA and its Senate counterpart PIPA [...] All services will be restored on January 19th, EST time. In the meantime, we urge our users to get involved."
