The Web is drowning in LLM slop and Google isn't keeping up or is simply participating in that.

They say that the only way to reliably keep a secret is to reduce the number of people "in the know" to one.

Money gets spent censoring/deplatforming people who speak about real issues; no money gets spent actually tackling those underlying issues, as they might result in criminal liability and bad press. This censorious mindset goes against the fundamentals of Free software, but some people have plenty to hide.

Below we explain that what Matthew Garrett, helped by Brett Wilson LLP and before that by Neil Brown, boils down to extortion, more so once they brought in an actual strangler from Microsoft to issue additional threats.

Let's recite some facts about the Open Source Initiative (OSI)

Maybe one day RMS will be more vocal in criticism or condemnation of systemd, nowadays exceedingly led by and hosted by Microsoft. Microsoft's vision of "Linux" is just something that it controls (i.e. it controls users) via Azure or similar spyware. It already integrates it with TPMs and other terrible things via systemd.

This lack of morality/courage has helped enable further abuse, lining up more victims

The only way Microsoft can survive rivalry is to sabotage the rival under the false guise of "security" or "secure boot" (it's not about security; it's about not allowing PCs to boot without Microsoft's approval) or by hijacking the rivals via GitHub (then throwing all the code into a plagiarism blender that takes away the licence). Those are the real issues.

No matter what it used to be (or could be or was supposed to be), the general public must understand what it is right now. Information is essential here; transparency is imperative.

Linux Foundation fired all the staff (including editors) of Linux.com
