  • Techrights; By Roy Schestowitz (Posted by schestowitz on Aug 1, 2025 8:29 PM CST)
  • Groups: Microsoft
After nearly 10 waves of layoffs in 2025 (not 2 as the mainstream media likes to claim) the workforce is a lot smaller and money is still absent, except for speculation in Wall Street

This Monday WebProNews Absolutely Flooded the Web With Fake (LLM Slop) 'Articles' About "Linux", Google News Promoted Them as Legitimate

This is not OK. They're basically attacking people who produce original, real, authentic work regarding Linux.

Richard Stallman is Usually Right Because He Thinks "Outside the Box"

  • Techrights; By Roy Schestowitz (Posted by schestowitz on Jul 28, 2025 4:08 AM CST)

To me, Stallman is a victim of his own success and influence, which they try to retroactively take away while burning down everything he created

Microsoft 'kill switch' installed by Matthew J. Garrett - in the face of resistance from Linus Torvalds (whom Garrett would later defame a lot)

His friends/colleagues alleged he'd plead "mental" to defend himself, but that won't work in the United Kingdom (UK), as he physically and mentally hurt many people - a fact that he's trying to hide using SLAPPs in a foreign continent, where he found an anti-metoo legal team

Slashdot Media Turned Linux Journal Into a Slopfarm and Now Slashdot Actively Promotes Anti-Linux Slopfarms

This is not a new problem. Later on respected people (like Bruce Schneier, who follows Slashdot) would not only link to slop but also based articles on the slop they saw in Slashdot.

It's so heavy that our kitchen scale (0-5KG) refuses to presents a weight; I had to split that up!

That's just only up until the Hearing (there has been more material sent my way since), not even counting any defence. If one adds pertinent E-mails to the above, then the grand total is around 1,400 pages.

IBM not only ignores the needs of blind people. It also attacks people like Richard Stallman, the founder of GNU/Linux

Bryan Lunduke is Actually Sending His Audience to Attack People

If this is his 'style' of resisting Wayland, then he does everyone a disservice, even to people who don't wish to use Wayland. He was also siccing mobs onto me, so I know this modus operandi of his. It was very direct and explicit. He did the same on his show.

Crime and Corruption at Microsoft GitHub Cannot be Covered Up by SLAPPs in Another Continent

The complaint made to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) turns 3 months today. We are happy to say that it is advancing and so do the investigations into corruption at Microsoft GitHub.

Why the Microsoft People Who Started SLAPPs Against Techrights Could Very Well be Sent Back to Prison

  • Techrights; By Roy Schestowitz (Posted by schestowitz on Jul 2, 2025 6:48 AM CST)
  • Groups: Microsoft
The two publications that started the SLAPPs in 2021 were further reinforced over time. We had struck a nerve. Soon afterwards Miguel de Icaza fell on his sword as well. He was connected to it.

From where I sit and based on what I can see, this is "Team Mono" all over again. "Team Wayland" is scoring many own goals this month. Trying to force some distros to default to Wayland (or worse, offer only Wayland as an option, i.e. opposite of freedom) isn't winning, it's making a lot more enemies (alienation and suspicion) and earning even more pushback than ever before.

Why Techrights Cannot be Vilified (and Instead It Gets SLAPPed Repeatedly by Microsoft People)

Techrights is very difficult to portray as "right-wing", so some people instead attempted to say something like, "well, there are some right-wing people in the IRC channel or the IRC network" (as if we choose who comes there, we very seldom use a ban-hammer).

The Microsoft OOXML Modus Operandi: Throw 1,000 Pages of Other People's Work for a Judge to Read Ahead of a One-Hour Meeting

  • Techrights; By Roy Schestowitz (Posted by schestowitz on Jun 21, 2025 12:17 PM CST)
  • Groups: Microsoft
To scare me ahead of the Hearing the Microsofters' lawyers sent me by post not skeleton arguments (which would actually be useful) but instead a massive bill that they wrongly assumed I'd be made to pay. They had this fantasy. Now they have a write-off.

When They Have Nothing Left to Help Advance Abusive Litigation for Microsoft People... Other Than Throwing ~500 Pages of Someone Else's Work Into a PDF

The above isn't out of the ordinary; it echoes what their other client did: he basically assaulted women in America. Then he hired lawyers to bully those women some more (in America). I, in the UK merely reported - correctly - what had happened in America. So he took the same unscrupulous lawyers as his litigation buddy ("another former Microsoft researcher") to bully the person who merely reported what he was jailed for while he was a Microsoft employee.

For instance, imagine a hearing seeking to invalidate a Microsoft patent... hosted by... Microsoft.

GNU/Linux Grows at Windows' Expense and Microsoft Trolls Infest and Maliciously Target Articles About It

Some readers of ours sent us private messages to illuminate trolling in comment sections discussing the above. We saw that in Soylent News, someone from Soylent News reported to us the same in other sites, and having surveyed some comments and studied patterns in them, it's rather clear "WSL" is little/nothing more than a weapon of propaganda against adoption of GNU/Linux.
