Docker: Making the Internet Programmable
Docker, and containers in general, are hot technologies that have been getting quite a bit of attention over the past few years. Even Solomon Hykes, Founder, CTO, and Chief Product Officer at Docker started his keynote with the assumption that people attending LinuxCon Europe know that Docker does containers, so instead of focusing on what Docker does, Hykes used his time to talk about Docker’s purpose saying, “It really boils down to one small sentence. We're trying to make the Internet programmable.”
“Most serious” Linux privilege-escalation bug ever is under active exploit
A serious vulnerability that has been present for nine years in virtually all versions of the Linux operating system is under active exploit, according to researchers who are advising users to install a patch as soon as possible.
While CVE-2016-5195, as the bug is cataloged, amounts to a mere privilege-escalation vulnerability rather than a more serious code-execution vulnerability, there are several reasons many researchers are taking it extremely seriously.

Kodi-fying an old computer
Here’s another Linux entry that I’m posting to remind me of what I’ve done to solve a problem. A friend came over to my home and saw my living room Linux computer set up to play media: movies, music, pictures, that kind of thing.
