Open source navigation tool OpenCPN is changing boating for weekend warriors and serious seafarers alike. First there were marine charts, then came those bulky, slow, and expensive dedicated chartplotters with arcane user interfaces. Then, at last, came chartplotters running on laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
