The Phoronix Test Suite combines years of Linux testing by Phoronix Media with input from leading technology companies to offer the most comprehensive testing and benchmarking platform available for the Linux Operating System. The Phoronix Test Suite also offers unprecedented capabilities for collaboration via the suite's online component.
I'm not a benchmark geek. My method for load-testing is keep piling on real jobs until the machine cries for mercy. Which is perhaps not the best method, but I'll bet it's the most common :)
Anyway I've been testing PTS a lot and it seems good. It's turning into a one-stop benchmarking suite, which suits me. More fun than playing hunt-and-capture a dozen different ones.
I like it even better when someone runs the benchmarks for me ...
