Syncing Smartphones In Linux: MS Exchange vs. Open Source Options Reviewed

In this article, I will share how I currently keep in sync with Evolution on Ubuntu with my own Pocket PC and why I can lose a Pocket PC and the computer, but still protect my calendar data/contacts/email data. While many of you have heard of the tool I use to do this, most of you are not aware of just how accessible it truly is.

When I first decided that I needed to have a reliable means for syncing my data, obviously I started at looking into the various open source collaboration options in the market. As standalone products, most them are pretty cool, especially Zimbra. And for a time there, I believed that Zimbra was the solution I wanted to go with. It provided me with support for everything I could possibly want and even allowed its users to stay up to date with their smartphones and BlackBerry devices. Just two problems.
