Trends in computers come in waves. Developers are like surfers on the shore spying out the horizon looking out for the next big one. Today I write about a wave that is just now starting to take shape, looks almost innocuous, but that has the potential to be a great ride as well – Nokia’s Maemo operating system.

I've been on maemo since the beginnings of the N770, on the N810 since day 1, wont leave the house without it. I cant wait for for my turn on the 900 eventually. Very nice to see the masses catching on! It's gonna be BIG!

I so wish I would have learned about Maemo before now. There was very little talk about it and as a result all the previous Maemo devices went completely under my radar. Oh well. I am happy to have found it now. :)

The N770 was widely discussed and reviewed both here and at other Linux oriented sites.
