I use the DockBarX applet in my panel, not the DockBarX Panel. I use it to replace the default GNOME window list applet, because the DockBarX applet gives me better window previews than the standard GNOME window list applet + compiz, which provides only 1 preview, no matter how many windows of an application are open.

The only problem I have with it is it doesn't have the ability to centre itself in the panel area.
