Announced eariler today, February 28th, the Fedora 17 Alpha (Beefy Miracle) operating system has been officially released for testing.

The GNOME Edition of the Fedora 17 Alpha Live CD comes with the latest development version of Linux kernel 3.3 and the GNOME 3.4 Beta 1 desktop environment.

Fedora 17 Alpha is distributed and Live CDs with GNOME and KDE SC desktop environments, as well as an installable DVD ISO image for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
