elementaryOS is an operating system based on the Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) distribution from Canonical, offering a light, fast, clutter-free and smooth desktop environment.

The first release of the distro, dubbed Jupiter, comes packed with a top panel, featuring interacticve indicators that shows you what's going on, and a bottom dock that offers quick access to your favorite applications.

elementaryOS 0.1 Jupiter incorporated unique applications like the WebKit-powered Midori web browser, the Lingo dictionary, Postler email client, and the Dexter address book app.

Yeah, it is a modified Ubuntu 10.10 distribution, but we have to admit that it looks quite amazing, and every Linux user knows that elementary is one of the best GTK theme for the GNOME desktop environment. Not to mention the beautiful boot splash theme.
