The openSUSE Project, through Jos Poortvliet, announced last night, April 12th, the immediate availability for download and testing of the third Milestone release of the upcoming openSUSE 12.2 operating system.

Delayed one week because the move to i686 desktop Linux kernel for 32-bit architectures, the openSUSE 12.2 Milestone 3 operating system has been released to bring the latest technologies from the Linux world, such as GNOME 3.4, KDE Software Compilation 4.8.2, or LibreOffice 3.5.2.

Even if it's not set as default, the Plymouth boot splash screen has been implemented in this release, as well as the GRUB2 boot loader, which are considered as experimental, for the moment. However, be aware that Live CDs of openSUSE 12.2 Milestone 3 cannot install GRUB2.
