XenServer, Citrix's product based on the Xen Project, is being Open Sourced.

XenServer is a well-known commercial product built on the Linux Foundation's Xen Project. Citrix has decided to release it as fully open sourced code. Citrix has also built a new website, XenSource.org, which will be the hub for the new community effort which will be birthed around the code. This is not a "throw it over the wall and call it open source" effort. Rather, Citrix has committed to undertaking the necessary steps to establish an independent XenServer project and community.

XenServer will take the place of Xen Cloud Platform (XCP), which was essentially an unbranded version of XenServer minus a few closed source bits. Now, XenServer will have all the code and functionality of the original commercial product available as Open Source.
