The Linux Mint team has revealed that the final version of Linux Mint 17.2 "Rafaela" MATE is now available for download. It comes with MATE 1.10 and a ton of other improvements for the rest of the operating system.
Starting with the 17.x branch of Linux Mint, the developers have decided only to use Ubuntu LTS version as the base. This allows them to bypass any kind of intermediary release of Ubuntu and focus more on bringing updates for the main branch. This is the main reason why we have a major new update for Linux Mint just a year after the official release.
