A month ago, the term open source meant little to me. Then I enrolled in a class called "Foundations of an Open Source World," and now open source principles are integral to my way of thinking, and the community constantly amazes me. As a complete open source rookie, I often wished for an instruction manual to help ease my transition into the community.
