Linux Mint leader Clement Lefebvre announced today in the February 2025 monthly newsletter some of the things they are working on for their popular Ubuntu-based distribution, including a revamped Cinnamon app launcher.

First of all, Clement Lefebvre reminded users that the Linux Mint 22.x will not have an EDGE release because the upcoming Linux Mint 22.2 will be shipping with the HWE (Hardware Enablement) kernel from the upstream Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (Noble Numbat) operating system, namely Linux kernel 6.11.
