The PipeWire project has released PipeWire 1.4.8 today as yet another maintenance update to the latest PipeWire 1.4 series of this popular open-source server for handling audio/video streams and hardware on Linux systems.

PipeWire 1.4.8 brings low latency for FireWire devices using the ALSA drivers by using only 3 periods in ALSA when in Pro-Audio mode, implements rename_callback support in the JACK Audio Connection Kit, improves compatibility with Apple HomePod Minis by adding fp_sap25 encryption to the RAOP module.
