New Raspberry Pi OS Release Adds Support for Setting HiDPI Scaling, Updates Labwc

After releasing the major Raspberry Pi Image 2.0 update of their OS flashing utility, the Raspberry Pi project also released today a new version of their Debian-based Raspberry Pi OS distribution for Raspberry Pi SBCs with HiDPI improvements and other changes.

Still based on the Debian 13 “Trixie” operating system series and powered by the long-term supported Linux 6.12.47 kernel, the new Raspberry Pi OS release (2025-11-24) comes with Labwc 0.9.4 as the default Wayland compositor, updated Openbox window appearance to match Labwc, and the Alacarte menu editor.
