Debian Project Formalizes Responsible Use of Generative AI

After two weeks of voting, the Debian Project has voted to adopt a formal position on the use of generative AI within the project, with “Responsible Use of Generative AI” winning out in the general resolution.

The resolution, adopted under the project’s constitutional authority to issue statements of its current position, neither endorses nor prohibits the use of generative AI tools in developing, maintaining, or documenting Debian’s software, packaging, and other media. Full Story |
