Linux hardware vendor and Pop!_OS Linux maker System76 released COSMIC 1.9 today as the latest stable version of this Rust-based desktop environment for modern GNU/Linux distributions.

Coming about two weeks after COSMIC 1.8, the COSMIC 1.9 release introduces two new components: COSMIC Viewer, an image viewer that supports a wide range of formats and features built-in editing capabilities, and COSMIC OSK, an on-screen keyboard that supports both touch and gamepad input.
