Today, Mozilla promoted the next major release of its open-source web browser, Firefox 160, to the beta channel for public testing, so it’s time to take a look at the new features and improvements.

Mozilla Firefox 160 promises a new playback speed setting to the Picture-in-Picture player with options ranging from 0.25x to 2.0x speed, support for playing Matroska (MKV) files with FLAC, MP3, or PCM audio, and the ability to drag history entries from the sidebar to the tab strip to open them in new tabs.

Firefox 160 also promises support for MathML content that is accessible to assistive technology, such as screen readers, in PDF files generated when saving a web page as PDF, as well as a new “Never allow” button to block sites that repeatedly ask to open email links (mailto:) and other links in web apps.
