Scribus 1.6.7 has been released today as a new stable update in the Scribus 1.6 series of this open-source and cross-platform desktop publishing app for Linux, BSD, Solaris, macOS, and Windows systems.

Coming six months after Scribus 1.6.6, the Scribus 1.6.7 release addresses seven security vulnerabilities discovered in Scribus’s image loaders and import filters, ranging from heap and integer overflows to out-of-bounds reads and access, so these alone are a solid reason to update your Scribus installations today.

Apart from the security fixes, Scribus 1.6.7 improves character formatting, such as bold or italic, to be carried over when resuming typing after a formatted run, and improves support for superscript text with the Outline effect enabled to no longer draw the outline offset from the glyphs.
