OpenShot 4.1 has been released today as a major update to this free, open-source, and cross-platform video editor, introducing a revamped text workflow, a new command-line interface, live export validation, and many other improvements.

Coming two months after OpenShot 4.0, the OpenShot 4.1 release revamps the text workflow by creating text clips immediately, adding support for editing text directly in the preview window with no external editor required, and exposing typography options in the Properties dock.

In addition, text styles can now be named, copied, pasted, remembered, and reset, and you can also edit the style of many text clips at once. Moreover, the Edit Text and Edit Style dialogs have been redesigned to match the Cosmic Dusk theme.
