The Future of Linux is in Schools, Not in the Office

I have been watching the trends being set forth by Linux vendors for sometime now. While keeping a close eye on public reactions, I have seen great reaction from the educational sector, while observing lukewarm results from the office space.

Much of this, I suspect, is that schools are looking at a tighter bottom line than we see with much of the world’s leading corporations. With this in mind, I believe that concessions are made when something does not work exactly as they might like. Would it not make sense that for most educational institutions cost trumps minor inconvenience? But just how flexible are today's schools and will they indeed, become the catalyst that Linux needs to become a household name?
