This is a great win for Linux, and for Novell. I really hope Novell keeps on the road they're travelling and re-gain some of their past glory. They're doing good work with linux, and were smart using the kernel to revitalize NetWare and their services.

And a big kudos to Oregon for going with a Linux system. Taxpayers will surely like to hear they saved 30% on software costs. The 80 hours to re-write their software blew me away. That's like paying one guy for two weeks' work or 10 guys for ONE DAY! Either way, it's an impressive stat.

Now if Oregon takes a move like Mass. and adopts open formats for government documents, we'll really start to see a movement!! OOo 2 rocks - even though it's still beta.
