Maybe it's time that everyone stopped worrying and just pressed on to use it. If everyone did so and then were being attacked legally later it would show how stupid the patents policy with regards to software is and how inhibiting to progress it is.

Not realistic maybe.

Funny how "real" "tech" "journalists" never notice how many times Microsoft has been sued. I daresay it's dozens of times, and they have lost nearly all of them. And why should IT managers care? So what if Microsoft/Sun/Novell/IBM/etc. all sue each other into oblivion? That doesn't affect their customers. SCO added a new wrinkle by suing their own customers. Well OK, not even that, as in the Daimler-Chrysler case. Just a big fat straw man.
