MySQL is clearly using Clayton Christensen's "Innovators Dilemma" / "Innovators Solutions" playbook in their strategy. If you want to be a disruptive technology, you need to have an improvement trajectory that is steeper than the technologies you want to disrupt. With that in mind it is a pity that the interview doesn't cover how their development model is organized and how large it is. |
