"making SE Linux work has been difficult"

Although SELinux is progressing, it has a long way to go to be practical and affordable for the mainstream. Although it might be freely available, it is time intensive and not even an advanced Linux user can use it without additional training. Seldom talked about and even mentioned is that this creates an unacceptable TCO for the business enterprise. It may be fine for someone running a few boxes, but it is not for an admin with say, 500 systems, or more.

This is typical of what happens when you try and make something from the military paradigm "fit" the business enterprise, it is difficult.
