"Surely the "open source community" has matured enough..."

Any proof, examples, sources, etc. to back up that statement?

Any statement that starts with "surely" is most often a premise without proof, or just plain wishful thinking by the author.

I don't expect a suit to know how to install GNU/Linux. It does make sense to have grasped what the "spirit of the open community" is before getting in over one's head. How, for instance, do you run a business based on libre software without running afoul of the community if you don't know what the community's mores are?
