from what I see here this is mostly a news site and yes you can get support here there are better forums for it

this one has lots of users and is the slackware reckmended support site http://linuxquestions.org

this one has alot of people who know what thay are doing http://linuxcult.com

this one has lots of sub forms for the kind of help you are looking for http://linuxforum.com

because of the format of this forum there is a good chance that your request for help will shuffle to the bottom befor some one helps you

theres also quite a few distro specific forums - suseforums, mandrivausers, gentoo forums, etc etc some are better than others e.g. gentoo forums contain tonnes of stuff, but it's wise to have read the documentation first - which IMO is some of the best out there (you don't have to have mega in depth linux knowledge - a run of the mill system, a pair of discs, the install handbook (available online/on the discs etc) and about an hour (stage 3 + GRP is the quick way to go) will give you an up and running gentoo system - but it's essential that you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS religiously!

Just installed SUSE 10. Having been a windows user for nearly 10 yrs. I earn my keep with it. So I have a question. How do I join a network "workgroup"?

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you'll need to configure Samba for the workgroup in question. As with all other things, the Samba configuration is probably done in Yast. Since I don't use SuSE, I can't give any more details. Maybe someone else will detail the exact steps you need to follow.
