Hi folks, please don't take the following as a political message, it ain't. It's just something that got me thinking after reading an article in my Sunday paper. Those of us who use LInux value freedom; we also value the freedom of expression, especially on the internet, a vehicle that has allowed so much information (generally good) to be disseminated to just about everyone who can get online. Unfortunately this valuable freedom is not available to all. Please, if you want to try and make a difference, log on to either http://www.irrepressible.info or observer.co.uk/amnesty and lets stand up for freedom of expression for all. Apologies if anyone sees this as overtly political, but it is not meant that way and you have the freedom to express that opinion as I do mine. We have to remind ourselves from time to time this privelidge is not available to all. Thank you.

My thanks to you for posting this article. I had never heard of http://www.irrepressible.info, but after checking the site out, I signed the pledge and promptly sent a link to the site to everyone in my address book. This isn't a political message, it's a freedom of speech message. I think that the internet is the greatest communications tool ever created, and big business and government is scrambling to find a way to censor it. It's time we took the power back.
