If I had tried it at home, it takes every single Digg.com page literally minutes to load on my machine at home, I don't get it.

Why does Digg do that? Every page eats up 1.5gigs of RAM on my machine, why?

Somebody already dugg the page at http://tux500.com/geeklog/article.php?story=2007041007572637...

Do we want to digg dcparris' article as well?

That's weird. If I digg it, I'll run the risk of getting the story kicked.

digg is a horrible site- it bogs down every PC I've ever used to visit the site. It kicks CPU in the red zone, makes my cursor all herky-jerky, and sucks up all my RAM.

Even so, Digg we must!

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the source of the quotation! Or even knows it is a quote!

I thought I said categories linux and motorsports so it would show up in both. Unless I did something wrong. *shrug*

Sorry, all I get is a "Oops, what you're looking for isn't here!" error page.

Are you able to find it on digg, Don?

If you search under linux, it should show up on the first page.

For whatever reason, url's don't seem to be working. I'll give it a try and see if I have any better luck:

http://www.digg.com/motorsport/Linux_Marketing_Campaign_Seek...

Added: Nope, sure enough, the link above doesn't work, even though it was cut and pasted from the digg page. They're obviously doing something to block direct links. The story is currently the 12th story returned when search for linux.

I found it by searching for dcparris.

Weird. The link on the search page is that link.

http://digg.com/motorsport/Linux_Marketing_Campaign_Seeks_35...

So why does it not work externally? When I click on it at digg and copy and paste it it loads fine.

It's in the NewsForge Newsvac: http://www.newsforge.com/

It's also being carried by Linux.com (their newsvac thingy) and VarLinux.org.

aha! It's the old Lxer adding a space in the url glitch. It's adding a space right after 359k

Yep. Sure enough, when I mouse over the URL, I can see the space there. Any chance someone at LXer could take a look at this bug. Yes, tinyurl can fix it, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Worked in Preview. Now posting to thread.

Editor's Note: I have posted an e-mail to Bob about the URL issue.

Ok, I've totally had it with this link error. Therefore, I've been so rude to add a 'Digg it' link to the lead of the article, just like I did to James' slackware article; please look at our 'Features' link for a view:

http://lxer.com/module/newswire/lf/ If the Digg-links in the leaders are a problem (for anyone, for whatever reason), please let the LXer team know (this thread is fine), and if we agree because there's a valid reason, we'll remove it. I've included an ALT-tag.

BTW at the moment, my PayPal license is revoked (multiple wrong password entry). I really have to send those people a copy of my passport, because I really want to make a donation!

"What a day!"

I will end this with the way I started it...you have my deepest thanks and my gratitude Don for all you are doing for this effort. Lots of you guys don't know the hell Don has went through getting this thing out there. He could probably use some sleep.
